What is your role within the Academic Collaborative Centre related to people with PIMD?

I am one of three knowledge brokers working at the Academic Collaborative Centre for people with PIMD. My task is to gather knowledge, synthesise it and ‘sell’ it to potential users. At ’s Heeren Loo, I work as a behavioural scientist within the PIMD Centre of Expertise, where we translate scientific knowledge into practice by, for example, developing training materials.

What do you hope to achieve?

My goal is to help people with PIMD to reach their full potential and enjoy life. This cannot be achieved without good support. And good support is what you get when scientists, professionals, parents and relatives pool their knowledge. I hope that by facilitating this process, I will help make a difference in the lives of vulnerable people.
