What is your role within the Academic Collaborative Centre related to people with PIMD?
I represent 's Heeren Loo in the management team responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Academic Collaborative Centre related to people with PIMD (ACC-PIMD. At ’s Heerenloo, I lead the Scientific Research and Knowledge Management programme. The creation of the ACC-PIMD is a good example of the sort of activities that I am involved in.
What do you hope to achieve?
The broad objective underlying all that I do is to bridge the gap between science and practice. We can improve the quality of care by finding smart, practical ways to strengthen the collaborative ties between scientists, healthcare professionals and hands-on experts. The ACC-PIMD is a perfect example. The management team of the ACC-PIMD has three goals: to formulate good research programmes, to aim for quality improvement at all times and to ensure that our programme objectives are achieved.
