Nynke de Jong

Management team ACC PIMD
Koninklijke Visio

What is your role within the Academic Collaborative Centre?
On behalf of Royal Visio, the centre of expertise for partially sighted and blind people I became a member of the Management Team of the ACC PIMD. Since 2020, I have been a Policy Advisor and Research Coordinator with colleagues focusing on Scientific Research & Service Improvement. Our team tries to bridge the gap between Visio’s strategic goals and the implementation of the proper (scientific) research projects that should help achieve those strategic goals.

What do you want to achieve?
The focus on vulnerable groups has always been a common thread in my work. The target group of this Academic Workplace is therefore certainly close to my heart. My motivation for now is to connect the academic world and the results of scientific research even better with the daily services and educational practices of Visio. This is important but sometimes still quite difficult and persistent. It starts with getting to know each other and understanding each other. Gathering and providing information, but especially carrying out projects together is a great vehicle to connect the world of science to the world of health professionals. With the fulfillment of my role in the management team and the focus on the organization and realization of all those great research activities, I hope to contribute to an even better knowledge and expertise about the PIMD group and a future-proof fulfillment of the quality of life of our Visio clients.
