Lisette Wijbenga
Postdoctoral researcher
University of Groningen
What is your role within the Academic Academic Collaborative Center related to people with PIMD?
I work within the Academic Collaborative Center related to people with PIMD as a postdoctoral researcher. In this role, over the next three years, I will focus on conducting various types of practice-oriented research: interviews, surveys among students and professionals, and the implementation and evaluation of an app. I am involved in the project ‘Boeien en Binden’. In this project, we examine what inspires (future) professionals to work with people with profound intellectual and multiple disabilities (PIMD) and what motivates them to remain in the field.
What do you want to achieve?
It is important to me that research is relevant to practice and aligned with the experiences and needs of those directly involved. In this way, it contributes to knowledge that is not only scientifically valuable but also truly makes a difference in practice.
