What is your role within the Academic Collaborative Center related to people with PIMD?
As a junior researcher, I focus on appropriate support and interventions. To this end, we have mapped the accessibility and availability of interventions and knowledge in the Netherlands. We aim to actively contribute to improving accessibility and availability, and are currently exploring ways to do so.

What do you hope to achieve?
Professionals need detailed information to determine which interventions to use in practice in order to provide appropriate support. Therefore, it’s crucial that they have easy access to available interventions and relevant knowledge. Unfortunately, this is not always the case in practice. With this project, I hope to help make the valuable interventions developed for individuals with profound intellectual and multiple disabilities (PIMD) more accessible – and, as a result, easier to use.
